Vedanta Moves Madras HC Against TNPCB Order: A Legal Battle Over the Future of “Green Copper

Vedanta Sterlite Copper plant continues to remain in discussions since long. Y ears after the plant’s dramatic shutdown in 2018, the debate has returned once again- this time to the courtrooms of the Madras High Court. Recently, Vedanta Limited has challenged a recent order of the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB) which rejected halted   its proposal to establish a new “Green Copper” facility at the Thoothukudi site. The matter came up before the First Bench consisting of Chief Justice MM Shrivastava and Justice G Arul Murugan.
